As the name of the Rogue Ales brewery suggests, ales are the flagship and hobbyhorse of this company. Ales are the playground where the brewers of the American brewery like to let off steam and the area in which they know the most. Their success story began - how could it be otherwise - with an ale: Dead Guy Ale was brewed for the first time almost 35 years ago and accompanied the brewery through good times and bad.
The flagship is an ale whose recipe is inspired by the German Maibock. A selection of exquisite malts gives the brew its strong copper color and ensures a stable body that conjures up caramel, roasted aromas and notes of oven-fresh bread on the tongue. The abundance of grains is contrasted by the Perle and Sterling hops: the green gold adds grassy notes, fruity components and an earthy herbal taste to the aromas. Rogue Ale’s Dead Guy Ale skilfully balances malty sweetness, hoppy fruitiness, crisp bitterness and herbal undertones and is really drinkable despite the massive 6.8% alcohol content and 40 bitter units.
Even fruitier and more bitter is Rogue Ale’s Dead Guy IPA , which the brewery launched in 2023. A hoppier creation that has just as much character and flavor as the original.
