Elegance is an attribute that, in the context of alcoholic beverages, has long been associated exclusively with wines. Beers were drinkable, delicious or hearty, but they were rarely described as elegant. The advent of the craft beer movement brought about a paradigm shift: the number of common beer styles on the market multiplied and beer turned out to be something that was made with care and enjoyed with attention. Sophistication and elegance found their way onto the beer shelf and the brews became more complex, deeper and more delicious.
The Kronenbourg 1664 brewery has been around for almost 75 years and has benefited significantly from this change. Their 1664 Blanc has always been elegant, but beer fans’ palates are only now ready to recognize this finesse.
The golden beer with the fine cloudiness is adorned with an airy crown of white foam and exudes a fruity scent. Notes of sun-kissed citrus fruits, juicy orange, ripe apricot and velvety peach rise to the nose and make you thirsty at the first sip. The first sip reveals a light-footed body with a moderate 5.0% alcohol content and a refreshing character. Aromas of orange peel, floral hops, white peach and earthy coriander blossom on a crisp base of silky wheat. A clear, tidy and subtle bitterness permeates the beer enjoyment and rounds off the tasty pleasure harmoniously.
