An internationally awarded beer in the range of the Indian brewery Bira 91 is their popular Blonde Summer Lager. The brew has climbed the podium and won bronze medals at the European Beer Challenge in London 2020, the Asia Beer Challenge 2020 and the World Beer Awards 2021. The crisp and refreshing character of the beer convinced the judges and we like it too.
Bira 91’s interpretation of a classic lager is made with barley, wheat and rice, and the brewers also use noble hop varieties from Germany. Despite the special ingredient, the camp is simple and unexcited. It brings everything into the glass that one would hope for from this style of beer and pleases with a taste palette that, in addition to light malt, plays fine pine notes and a skilfully balanced bitterness.
The Blonde Summer Lager presents itself in a crystal-clear gold with a small foam crown. A bouquet of freshly mown grass, citrus fruits, sun-ripened grain and stone fruit fills the air and gives a good picture of what awaits you in culinary terms. The lager delivers light-footed notes of malt, grassy and fruity hops, and a restrained bitterness that balances well with the smooth sweetness.
If you are looking for a tasty, uncomplicated lager, you have come to the right place!
