The number 14 in the range of the 2085 Brewery is a summer dream in a timeless silver robe: The shiny, minimalistic designed can contains a sour beer that makes our mouths water with the name "Kveik Vanilla Lemon Tart". The fine beer specialty from the Ukraine is brewed with lemons, limes, tangerines and oranges and tastes like a Sicilian lemon cake made from freshly squeezed juice, vanilla and a buttery crust.
The fruit beer presents itself in a delicate yellow in the glass, but the true highlight at first glance is the scent: fresh, still warm key lime pie meets creamy vanilla pudding and spicy yeast on the nose. This heavenly composition makes the first sip inevitable and raises expectations to dizzying heights. Luckily, the 14 can keep what it promises olfactory: from the first sip to the last drop, 2085s Kveik Vanilla Lemon Tart enchants with a symphony of fruit cake, pudding, lemon curd, vanilla yoghurt and light malt. A harmonious interplay of mild bitterness and light-footed acidity completes the taste experience.
Thanks to its sparkling fruitiness, the beer goes wonderfully with sweet dishes and cheese. We like to eat it with tarte flambée with sour cream, finely chopped shallots, hearty bacon, red grapes, creamy goat cheese and a touch of Gruyère.
