IPA - Die Aromenvielfalt des Hopfens
India Pale Ale, kurz IPA, ist wohl DER Craftbier-Stil schlechthin. Dieses Bierothek® Bierpaket enthält zwölf Variationen des fruchtig-bitteren Pale Ale-Bruders. Die größere Hopfenmenge lässt ein breites Aromenspektrum entstehen und zeigt, was Bier so alles kann!
Das IPA (India Pale Ale – nicht IndiaN Pale Ale!) ist wohl das bekannteste Craft Bier bei Neueinsteiger in der Szene. Ein IPA ist ein Craft Beer, das sich durch seine Bitterkeit einzigartig macht. Dies wird durch den intensiven Einsatz von Hopfen verursacht. Da dieser bei IPA’s klar im Vordergrund steht, wird das IPA mindestens doppelt gehopft und es werden große Mengen und auch oft viele unterschiedliche Hopfensorten beim Brauprozess verwendet. Fünf bis sieben verschiedene Hopfensorten sind dabei nicht untypisch. Die Bitterkeit misst man mit dem IBU - den International Bitterness Units.
