What happens when hop enthusiasts meet? They join forces!
At least in the world of craft beer, this scenario occurs quite often. Brewmasters of modern, young breweries often have a great enthusiasm for hops. When these people meet at trade fairs, festivals or other events, they may get talking. They talk shop, exchange experiences and ideas, tell of hop adventures and, in the best case, feel inspired after this intimate exchange to put the shared enthusiasm into a new creation.
When Cervesa Espiga from the Barcelona area and Tough Love from the Portuguese town of Esmoriz came together, that’s exactly what happened. With combined forces and an unreasonable amount of hops, the breweries created Bloomy Skull together. The collaboration brew is a heavily cloudy India Pale Ale that was cold-hopped with Strata and Ekuanot hops. Barley, wheat and oats provide a smooth, grippy texture, while the green gold peppers the aroma and taste with fruit and herbal notes.
Bloomy Skull shines in an opaque honey yellow in the glass and has a beguiling scent of passion fruit, sun-ripened strawberries and sage - three aromas that are also reflected in the taste. The summery trio is accompanied by a hint of pepper and a warming 6.3% alcohol content. Refreshing, silky-smooth, spicy, delicately bitter and fruity!
