We humans are creatures of habit and once we fall out of our usual routines, it is difficult to establish them again. Weekends are little breaks that sweeten our everyday lives and holidays are much-needed time off, but both throw us out of our rhythm and require constant recalibration. The team at the Espiga brewery knows this struggle all too well and has therefore come up with a beer that is intended to sweeten the difficult transition between wonderful freedom and everyday hustle and bustle.
Owl Yeah is a double dry hopped India Pale Ale, hopped with Hallertau Blanc, Idaho 7 and Vista hops and cold hopped with the same trio plus Ekuanot Cryo. The double hopping conjures up an exuberant fruitiness in the beer. The brew has a motivating 6.5% alcohol content and balances out the fruity sweetness with an impressive 46 bitter units. Three different malts and the addition of oat and barley flakes ensure a velvety soft, grippy mouthfeel.
Espigas Owl Yeah flows into the glass in cloudy orange-gold and forms a white foam head that smells of tropical fruits and pine resin. The taste is made up of pineapple, mango, passion fruit, white grapes, resinous notes and tangy citrus notes. There is no better way to end a Monday - even if it follows directly after the holidays!
