Sometimes things reach us at exactly the right moment: we feel for a long-forgotten cough drop in the depths of our handbag when our throat is scratchy, we find the umbrella we thought was lost among scarves, hats and gloves when it’s pouring outside and we urgently need to get rid of one, we get a little financial injection from grandma just before the washing machine gives up the ghost, or we come across the perfect beer just in time for the end of the day to ring in the upcoming free time.
The Spanish brewery Cierzo Brewing is alluding to these gifts from heaven with its latest range: Just In Time is a series of beers brewed with various hop combinations and designed to sweeten precisely such moments. The version we would like to present to you here is made with the hop varieties Styrian Wolf and Citra. The base is a Hazy Pale Ale, which brings a gentle 4.5% alcohol content and a mild 20 bitterness units to the glass. This hop-forward specialty comes in a dense, cloudy orange-gold and is crowned with a cap of fleeting, white foam. The hop varieties used dominate both the aroma and the taste: Styrian Wolf contributes sweet tropical fruit, floral undertones and hints of freshly harvested herbs, while Citra delivers an explosion of juicy citrus fruits.
