The Christmas Monk is a cousin of the Tipsy Monk and is the product of the fertile imagination of Kuehn Kunz Rosen. Not that of the advisor to kings and emperors from Kaufbeuren in the 15th and 16th centuries, but that of the brewery team in his honor. Their Christmas version of the popular strong beer shows the stately monk in festive attire: Full of anticipation, the man of God, dressed in a Santa Claus coat and red hat with bells, raises a goblet of promising-looking amber drink. A broad smile adorns his face, his full cheeks are flushed with joyful anticipation. Behind the mischievous monk in Advent costume is a festival beer that is only available during the Christmas season (and as long as supplies last afterwards).
XMAS Monk is stylistically a Belgian Dubbels and brings a strong body and full aromas to the glass in addition to a lively 7.5% alcohol content. The festive twists are wrapped in a variety of flavors and are barely perceptible between the voluminous notes of tenderly melting caramel, brown candy sugar, dark dried fruit and Christmas spices. Unfortunately, you only notice them when you break out into loud, off-key singing of Christmas classics. However, we are happy to take this risk in view of the complex, multi-layered and atmospheric enjoyment.
Kuehn Kunz Rosen's XMAS Monk is a sensual delight that will add colour to your cheeks and create a Christmassy atmosphere.
