Many good things in life come in pieces or slices: juicy watermelon on a hot summer day, the small slice of sausage you received from the butcher as a child, a fragrant slice of pizza fresh from the oven—and sometimes even happiness itself, bestowing a slice of contentment upon us. Another highlight has recently joined this list: Slice (slice or slice in English) from the Polish brewery Moon Lark. This Hazy IPA is a smooth slice of happiness and as refreshing as watermelon in August.
In the glass, Slice presents a delicately cloudy, antique gold hue. A fluffy, white foam head sits atop the cloudy body, offering a stable, wonderfully aromatic finish. A fruity explosion of flavors unfolds from the very first sniff: juicy pineapple, ripe mango, tangy grapefruit, and a hint of peach tickle the nose. On the tongue, Slice is full-bodied and caresses the palate with a juicy fruit sweetness balanced by a pleasantly fresh hop bitterness. Notes of citrus and tropical fruits alternate with a subtle herbal spice that adds depth to the beer. The mouthfeel is creamy and grippy, the finish refreshing and long-lasting.
Treat yourself to a piece of this summer delight!
